About the ArtWorks! Lessons…
 

The themes for the Fall 2021 ArtWorks! Program is Tell the Bees, which is derived from an ancient Celtic custom of explaining any important news or changes to the family situation to the household bees, assuring them of continued care, and asking them to stay with the household.   

 

The ArtWorks Teachers:

Alex & Sofia, grades 2-3

Kat & Kathleen, grades 4-5

Connor & Star, grades 6-8

These art education students designed art experiences designed to explore the interrelationships among:
 

• Personal identity, nature, ecology, personal responsibility and stewardship

• formal art skills,

• visual storytelling,

• relationships to place

 

To explore these themes, the ArtWorks! students were also introduced to various 2D and 3D skills, materials, techniques, tools, and professional practice in the visual arts.

 

They drew, painted, sculpted, printed, modeled, assembled, discussed, critiqued, took care of their materials, classroom and each other.
